The 1893 Charter of the New Century Trust states that, "the purposes for which the corporation is formed are the social, industrial and educational cultivation and improvement of working women and girls, without any sectarian distinction."
In keeping with the Trust’s mission, the New Century Trust awards unrestricted grants to 501(c)(3) organizations whose work aims to improve the lives of women and girls in the Greater Philadelphia area. Funds are awarded to provide support for general operating costs and special projects. Currently, grants range between $5,000 and $20,000. See below for information regarding grant applications.
The New Century Trust also presents the Willing Hands Award annually, in honor of Lillie Du Puy Van Culin Harper whose legacy to the Trust is the inspiration for its grant program.
Nominations are accepted for this award. Applications are not accepted. All applicants in the spring grant cycle will also be considered for this award; as will all those which have previously received a grant from the NCT and which meet the guidelines for this year's award.
The New Century Trust accepts grant proposals twice a year and requires a Letter of Intent to be submitted prior to a full proposal.
Grant recipients must be 501(c)(3) organizations.
For full proposals, the New Century Trust accepts the Delaware Valley Grantmakers Format (www.dvg.org). Send one copy as an attached Microsoft Word document to info@newcenturytrust.org and mail one copy of the full proposal and all attachments to:
